Changes Are Here
I pray that this post finds you well. As you may know, Larry Clark, our church secretary for many years, has re-retired. We have been adjusting to the change over the last four to five weeks and a new normal is emerging. We have hired a new financial secretary and are currently having volunteers help in the office. With this change there are also changes to our newsletter.
Moving forward we will publish a few shorter newsletters (two to three articles max) throughout the month via email. We will then collate those to include for those of you who do not receive emails so that you can also stay informed. Please continue to pray for us as we navigate these changes, and also please continue to pray for Larry as he enters this new phase of life.
I would like to ask you to join us as we pray about the potential of Primera Iglesia Bautista moving from being a part of our church family to officially merging into Prosperity Avenue. Leadership from both churches has been praying for a few months about this possibility and we have now asked both churches to pray for 40 days, with our next meeting about this happening after church on May 19th. The question we are asking is “does God want us to take this path?” The Sunday morning experience would not change appreciably as we would still conduct Sunday School, have a time of coffee and fellowship, and then have an English service in the Sanctuary and a Spanish service in the Fellowship Hall. Where the biggest changes would occur is in the public presentation of the church (one name with services in English and Spanish) and behind the scenes we would roughly double in size and once again be able to fill out our critical teams and committees. Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or would like clarification on anything.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Sam
